India vs Pakistan series will held in december....

The fate of the bilateral series between Pakistan
and India, to be played in Sri Lanka, now lies in
the hands of the governments of both countries.
Both the BCCI and PCB confirmed that they had
written to their governments asking for
clearance for the tour, which is likely to feature
five limited-overs games - three ODIs and two
T20s. This is the first official confirmation
offered by the BCCI about the decision taken to
play the bilateral series in Sri Lanka.
Anurag Thakur, the BCCI secretary, said he had
written to the Indian Foreign Ministry on
Tuesday. "I have written a letter to the Foreign
Ministry seeking clearance to play with Pakistan
in Sri Lanka," Thakur told PTI. "According to the
agreement of India and Pakistan, both teams
were supposed to play in the UAE or at any
other neutral venue if the conditions in Pakistan
were not suitable. It is up to Pakistan as to
where they want to play. After discussions with
the BCCI and PCB, both countries have decided
to play in Sri Lanka."
The decision to play the series in Sri Lanka was
taken at the meeting between BCCI president
Shashank Manohar and PCB chairman
Shaharyar Khan in Dubai on Sunday. The PCB,
though, did not mention Sri Lanka as the venue
in a media release issued today, saying the final
decision would be announced publicly by ECB
president Giles Clarke, who was present as a
facilitator during the Dubai meeting between the
two boards.
"There has been much speculative reportage on
the PCB-BCCI discussions in Dubai under the
facilitation of Mr Giles Clarke. The facts are as
follows: a) PCB has informed the government of
the talks in Dubai that were regarded as fruitful.
The PCB has not asked for an NOC from
government for it is the government's
prerogative to decide on the issue. b) Similarly,
BCCI is also seeking its government's views on
these matters. c) No request has been received
from BCCI regarding the sharing of revenues. d)
In due course, Mr Giles Clarke would brief the
media of developments," the release said.
Both sides have been tightlipped after the
meeting, divulging few specific details including
the possible dates for the series. However
officials who have been privy to details of the
Dubai meeting indicated they the series could be
played between December 15 and the first week
of January. India then travel to Australia to play
a limited-overs series, which begins on January
12.

Sachin Tendulkar, Brian Lara to team up for Cricket All Stars

Sachin Tendulkar and Brian Lara, widely considered the two best batsmen of their generation, were drawn on the same team for the first edition of the Cricket All Stars on Thursday (November 5). The draw, conducted in Times Square New York, saw 27 players assigned randomly to the two teams Sachin's Blasters and Warne's Warriors for the three-match series.
Besides Lara, Tendulkar also drew former international teammates Virender Sehwag, Sourav Ganguly and VVS Laxman. Among those drawn in the Blasters were Muttiah Muralitharan, Curtly Ambrose, Glenn McGrath and Shaun Pollock. Meanwhile, Shane Warne ended up with former colleagues Matthew Hayden, Ricky Ponting and Andrew Symonds while also drawing a dream bowling attack of Courtney Walsh, Wasim Akram and Allan Donald.
With 26 of the 27 players allotted to either side, the two captains were left vying for last man Shoaib Akhtar, who joined the Blasters after captain Tendulkar won a coin toss to break the deadlock.
"We're going to go out there and play as hard as we possibly can, and we're going to win. Simple as that," said Warne after the draw. Warne also said the response to the tournament from the US public "had been overwhelming" and if all goes well, it could become an annual event.
He batted aside suggestions that the rules of cricket were too complicated for Americans to follow."When you take two minutes to concentrate on it, it's actually very simple," he said. "We're trying to hit the stumps and they're trying to hit it out of the park. It's not that hard."
The ICC-sanctioned matches will be played on drop-in pitches at major baseball fields in New York, Houston and Los Angeles.

If AB de Villiers is Superman

In the world of superheroes, Superman and Batman are two of the greatest characters in the DC universe. Superman, an alien from planet Krypton, is an invincible being. His strength, speed, stamina, and endurance are unfathomable. On the other hand, Batman, a homo sapien like us, molded himself into a superbeing through years of dedicated training. A master of stealth, Batman has extraordinary intellect, reflexes and has mastered the art of deception. The Man of Steel, Superman, is in a league of his own; he is indestructible (unless you've got Kryptonite).
Born into one of the most ancient and advanced civilizations, Superman's incredible powers effectively make him a god. Among cricketers, the only player whose attributes come close to mimicking superhuman abilities is AB de Villiers. Like Superman, the South African One-Day International skipper is way ahead of his time. He continues to inspire and awe despite being the best in the business. The way a god can inspire devotion, his aura leaves the crowd spellbound, with chants of 'A-B-D, A-B-D' following his arrival at the crease. The way Superman thrashed his opponents, the opposition's bowling arsenal is rendered useless by de Villiers's 360-degree strokeplay.
De Villiers has scored 5,454 runs (20 hundreds) in his last 100 ODI innings at an average of 69.01.
De Villiers has smashed 58 sixes (in 20 matches) in 2015 - the most by a batsman in a calendar year. He broke Shahid Afridi's record of 48 sixes (37 matches) - one that stood for 13 years.
He has four ODI tons where he took less than 60 balls to reach the landmark - the most by a batsman in history.
His ton in Mumbai pushed his career strike rate beyond 100, making him only the 3rd player with 8,000+ ODI runs to achieve the feat.
When de Villiers bats, records tumble; nothing seems impossible. He has established his supremacy at the top of the batting chain by thwarting the sharpest of attacks with his blade, time and again. However, even the best can falter at times. So can Superman and so does de Villiers. But like Superman has Batman and the rest of the Justice League members to help him out, de Villiers too has a number of individuals who can bail the team out of trouble when he misfires.

Who is South Africa's Batman?

Like Batman saved Gotham time and again, du Plessis has rescued South Africa from the most trying circumstances.
With scores of 133*, 17, 60, 51 and 62, Faf du Plessis amassed 323 runs, averaging a little over 80 in the ODI series against India. Du Plessis had an outstanding series, but the limelight was taken away by de Villiers's three centuries. Yes, he didn't convert three of his fifties into a hundred, but the solidity he provided as a No.3 played a major role in South Africa's first ever bilateral ODI series win in India.
Like Batman saved Gotham time and again, du Plessis has rescued South Africa from the most trying of circumstances. Du Plessis, who announced himself to the world with a match-saving performance against Australia on Test debut, has now become South Africa's batting mainstay across all formats. Let's take a look at du Plessis's numbers and how they stack up against some of the best players from the current generation.

Peter Siddle left out of Brisbane Test

Peter Siddle was left out of Australia's playing 11 in favour of Josh Hazlewood for the first Test against New Zealand, set to begin on Thursday (November 5) at the Gabba in Brisbane. Siddle, who impressed with figures of 2-32 and 4-35 in Australia's innings victory in the dead rubber Ashes Test at the Oval, was named the12th man with the 24-year-old Hazlewood joining Mitchell Johnson and Mitchell Starc in a three-prong pace attack.
Siddle's floundering Test career received a fresh lease of life when he replaced a weary Hazlewood for the final Ashes Test after being ignored for each of theprecedingfour games. His inclusion, and subsequent success, led to much debate in Australia's cricketing circles with the 30-year-old Victorian widely tipped to retain his place at the start of the Australian summer. But on the eve of the first Test, new Test skipper Steven Smith put his weight behind the younger Hazlewood, who had sparkled at the very venue last year with a fifer on debut against India.
Hazlewood, who was rested following the Ashes for the subsequent limited-overs series and the cancelled tour of Bangladesh, admitted to have been burnt out at the end of a gruelling first season in international cricket. "It was obviously my longest run in a row in first-class cricket, let alone Test cricket and I think physically it probably got the better of me toward the back end of the (Ashes) series and my bowling probably showed that," he told Cricket Australia earlier this week."

Shoaib Malik announces Test retirement

Shoaib Malik
Pakistan's top-order batsman and off-spinner, announced his Test retirement after the third day's play of the third Test against England in Sharjah on Tuesday (November 3). Revealing his decision in a press conference, Malik reckoned the time was right for him to move on.
Malik, who has played 35 Tests for Pakistan, made a comeback into the Test side after a gap of five years, replacing the injured Azhar Ali in the ongoing series against England in UAE. He celebrated his return with a career-best knock of 245 in the first Test in Abu Dhabi and career-best figures of 4 for 33 in the ongoing game in Sharjah - the second achievement coming on the day of his retirement announcement.
Malik hangs up his white flannels with 1898 runs - including three centuries - and 29 wickets. In an emotional press conference after the third day's play on Tuesday, Malik said,"We have some good youngsters and now is the time to retire. Family comes first. I want to focus on the 2019 World Cup."

Mohali is 'good cricketing wicket' for Test openers

Mohali's Wicket

Four days prior to the first Test between India and South Africa, to be played at the IS Bindra PCA Stadium here, the pitch has a greenish tinge to it. And it's not just a dash here or there. The whole wicket has considerable amount of grass on it.for more information click here

Sehwag said he was pained about not playing his farewell match

Former Indian batting sensation Virender Sehwag, who announced his retirement from International cricket recently, has come out and said that the ‘pain’ of not playing a farewell match for India would remain in his mind for a long time, reports The Hindu.

“Had the selectors told me that they were going to drop me, I could have requested them to allow me to play my last Test in Delhi and then announce my retirement, but they did not give me that opportunity,” he confessed.

“A sort of sadness shall always remain in my mind that I was not allowed to retire while playing, but anyway, it’s all a part of life for a sportsman, who, while playing, never realises when he should retire, but he starts thinking about it when he is dropped.”

The veteran batsman questioned whether a player who has played for his country for more than a decade, did not deserve a farewell match. “I would like to ask: Should not a player who has played 12 to 13 years for his country, deserves a farewell match?”

There were unconfirmed reports that organisers were planning a farewell match for Sehwag in the upcoming test series against South Africa in New Delhi. The 37-year old also maintained that every retired player deserved a farewell match. “If that is so(farewell match), it will be good. If BCCI cannot organise, at least DDCA should do. It’s not a question of me alone, every player who retires should get a farewell.”
